Broad beans
do best on well manured ground which holds moisture and
usually follows potatoes in the crop rotation. A
dressing of fertiliser (2oz per sq yard) is recommended
10 days before sowing. The seeds can be sown in February
in a sheltered place, elsewhere March to April. Sow in
double rows 6 to 9 inches apart in a shallow trench 3"
deep with 2 feet between each double row.
