Growing Tips
Shallots
|
Shallots are best grown in the same place for several
years. Dig soil deeply with manure or compost
incorporated in the previous Autumn. Allow to settle,
rake down and firm before planting unless weather is
very wet. Plant bulbs late February-March, 12" apart, 6"
between rows. Press firmly into the soil so that the top
is showing. Keep weeds down by hand so not to disturb
the roots |

Kitchen Tips:
Lift bulbs and leave them under cloches
or on a path to dry. Clean and store in
a frost free, well ventilated area.
